Use motionmind track to autolog renders from your existing video editing tools into the version registry.
Not every video starts with an agent. Maybe your team cuts in Premiere, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve, or builds in HyperFrames Studio directly. MotionMind can still keep the record: point it at the folder where the renders land, and every new file becomes a version with its loudness, size, checksum and contact sheet, ready to compare and promote.
motionmind track ~/Exports/demo --campaign demo/launch-6s-cut # any editor: new .mp4 files
motionmind track ~/Movies/HyperFrames/my-video --campaign demo/launch-6s # HyperFrames: renders/
motionmind ui # or: motionmind watch
Two kinds of folder:
| You track | MotionMind watches |
|---|---|
| a HyperFrames project | its renders/ folder |
| any other folder | new .mp4 files in it |
Tracking only runs while motionmind ui (the Studio) or motionmind watch is open. A file is logged once it's been unchanged for a few seconds, so an export that is still being written isn't picked up half-done. Files from before you started tracking are skipped, unless you add --backfill.
In this recording a new export lands in the tracked folder. Seconds later it's logged as v1-export-1101-1653, stage staging, source tracked, at −13.5 LUFS; refresh the campaign page to see it. Measurements and the contact sheet come from the file itself, whatever made it.
motionmind tracked # what is tracked, and where
motionmind track ~/Exports/demo --campaign demo/launch-6s-cut --backfill # include earlier exports
motionmind untrack demo/launch-6s-cut # stop; logged versions stay
For a one-off file, or to add what the file can't tell, log it yourself:
motionmind log ~/Exports/demo/final.mp4 --campaign demo/launch-6s-cut \
--title "Director's cut" --param hook="Hot by 7 a.m." --param editor="CapCut"
--param values appear on the run page. From there it works like any other version:
motionmind compare demo-launch-6s-cut-v1 demo-launch-6s-cut-v2
motionmind promote demo-launch-6s-cut-v2 --stage production
If you track a HyperFrames project, edit and render work on it without a version name:
motionmind edit demo/launch-6s # no version: opens the tracked HyperFrames project
motionmind render demo/launch-6s # renders it into its renders/ folder, then logs it
The agent edits your folder in place, never a copy. The loudness gate still applies: production needs −14 LUFS ±0.5 and a true peak at or below −1 dBFS, whatever editor made the file. See Loudness Standards: Why −14 LUFS?
