What motionmind.dev collects, why, and what your rights are. In short: no analytics or tracking cookies, and the MotionMind software runs on your own machine.

Summary

  • No analytics, ads or tracking cookies on this site.
  • Visitors don't need an account. Our only cookie is used by the MotionMind team when signing in to the admin panel.
  • Our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.
  • The MotionMind software (skill, CLI and Studio) runs on your computer. This site receives no data from it.

Who we are

motionmind.dev is run by the MotionMind team, the developers of the open-source MotionMind project (github.com/Motion-Minds). For questions about this policy or your data, contact [email protected].

What we collect

Server logs. Each time you open a page, our server and content delivery network record the IP address, time, requested page, browser and operating system (user agent) and referring page. We use these logs to run the site, fix errors and prevent abuse, and delete them on a regular basis.

Emails you send. If you write to [email protected], we keep your address and message for as long as we need to answer and follow up.

Support on Yapp. If you support us at yapp.ink/motionmind, the payment is processed by Yapp. We only receive what Yapp shares with us, such as the name or message you enter and the amount. We never receive your card or bank details.

Admin accounts. MotionMind team members who sign in to the admin panel are stored with an email and a hashed password. Visitors have no accounts.

We set no cookies for visitors. The mm_admin cookie is only created when a team member signs in to the admin panel, lasts 8 hours, and only keeps that session signed in. The admin panel also stores its sidebar layout in the admin's localStorage.

Our network provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to tell people from bots. YouTube or Vimeo videos embedded in an article may set their own cookies when you play them.

Third-party services

To run the site we use a few providers that may process technical data on our behalf:

  • A virtual private server (VPS) that runs the application and database.
  • Cloudflare, for content delivery, security and media storage (R2).
  • YouTube and Vimeo, only when an article embeds a video from them.
  • Yapp, for voluntary support.

Our pages also link to GitHub, npm and Yapp. Once you are on those sites, their privacy policies apply. To show the star count and latest version, our server fetches public numbers from GitHub and npm; these requests carry no data about you.

The MotionMind software

The MotionMind skill, CLI and Studio run on your computer. The Studio only listens on 127.0.0.1 and reads local files, and HyperFrames runs with telemetry off. The AI agent you use talks to its own model provider under that provider's policy, not through us.

Purpose and legal basis

We process data only to run and secure the site, answer your messages and handle support you give us. The basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the service running, carrying out your requests, and legal obligations, under Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022).

We don't sell personal data, build advertising profiles, or share data except with the providers above or when the law requires it.

Storage and security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Admin passwords are stored as hashes (scrypt), and server access is limited to the team. We keep data only as long as the purposes above need it. Our servers and providers may be outside Indonesia; where they are, we choose providers with adequate data protection.

Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Law you have the right to:

  • know what personal data of yours we process and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted or its processing stopped;
  • withdraw consent you gave;
  • object or complain, including to the data protection authority.

Send requests to [email protected]. We will verify the request and answer within the time the law requires.

Children

This site is for video makers and developers, not children. We don't knowingly collect children's personal data.

Changes

If the way we process data changes, for example by adding analytics or a newsletter, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
